Today’s Fortnite update adds the Heavy Sniper Rifle and two limited time modes

Update 5.21 is here.

Another new update for Fortnite: Battle Royale has arrived, adding some exciting new content with it.

The star of the 5.21 content update is the brand new Heavy Sniper Rifle. This thing packs a punch. Think of it as one of those ridiculously big and loud .50 caliber snipers. This thing looks and sounds incredibly mean.

The Heavy Sniper Rifle is available in Epic and Legendary variants, and both of them do insane damage—150 or 157 damage to players. Not only that, but the gun’s larger rounds deal devastating damage to buildings, either 1,050 or 1,100, meaning it will decimate basically any wall it fires at. It also has less bullet drop than other snipers in the game.

The update has also added two limited time modes. The first is an oldy but a fan favorite in Sniper Shootout, where the only weapon drops are sniper rifles. Floor loot spawns are reduced by 50 percent in the mode.

The other LTM is a new one called Soaring 50’s. This is a different kind of take on the 50 vs. 50 game mode, featuring an emphasis on mobility. When in mid-air and greater than 10 meters up, you can press the jump button to deploy your glider. There will also be an increase in spawns for impulse grenades, bounce pads, and launch pads.

You can check out the full patch notes on the Epic Games website, or hop online now to try out the update for yourself.
