Five Nights at Freddy’s celebrates its 10th birthday on Aug. 8 and plenty of reveals are coming, with the release of myPOPGOES on Aug. 1 and a Steel Wool Studio announcement on Aug. 6, likely to be a new game.

One particular aspect of the plans has caught the eye most of all, however. FNAF is set to announce a mysterious new collaboration on Aug. 5, and there has been plenty of speculation that it could be with Fortnite.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Will there be a Five Nights at Freddy’s x Fortnite collab?

The simple answer is that we don’t know whether a Five Nights at Freddy’s collaboration with Fortnite is in the works. We’ll have to wait and see what is announced on Aug. 5, but even that may not put an end to the rumors.

Fans have expressed a desire for FNAF to collaborate with Fortnite for a while, and if the Aug. 5 announcement doesn’t involve the Epic Games title, the door won’t necessarily be closed to a future collab.

However, recent comments from FNAF creator Scott Cawthon may have stifled rumors of an imminent collaboration. He expressed that he is “very careful with collaborations” and that some games, even if he enjoys them, don’t “feel like a good match.”

A July Fortnite player survey raised excitement about the potential of an FNAF collab by mentioning Freddy Fazbear, though these always include a wide number of films, TV, games, and other franchises that don’t always make an appearance in Fortnite.
