Fortnite’s web shop arrives, allowing V-Buck purchases, 3D views of skins, and more

Being out of town is no longer an excuse.

The long-awaited web shop for Fortnite is finally here, and it’s even more awesome than gamers might have thought.

Players can log in to their Epic Games account and use their V-Bucks to purchase Fortnite items currently in the shop, but the coolest part is how it functions just like the in-game store. It allows you to inspect each item currently viewable, along with a 3D model.

Skins rotate to show off their angles, gliders fly in and float just like in the game, and even Jam Tracks have a preview that you can listen to. It’s basically the same thing as the game store but now on your browser. You can even input a creator code.

Unfortunately for gamers, it doesn’t look like there’s a way to buy V-Bucks directly from the website. You can redeem a gift card by clicking on your username in the top right, but buying V-Bucks directly doesn’t seem to be possible from the web shop and must be done in-game.

Additionally, not all items are readily available to purchase on the web shop. Any of the packs requiring real money and not V-Bucks must be purchased from the game itself. So, the store is not perfect, but it is an addition that many were asking for.

The web shop is perfect for those who may not be able to access their game when a skin they want hits the store, but just make sure you already have V-Bucks on your account if you want to do so.

Obviously, the best way to purchase things in the game will still be within the game itself. But as most of the world does not have access to Fortnite on iOS at this point in time, the web shop may be the only option for those looking to pick up an emote or skin while on a family vacation or work trip.
