Fortnite: Battle Royale players may soon be able to undo their purchases in the Item Shop.
An Epic Games employee said two weeks ago that an “undo purchase” button was supposed to come in the v9.10 update. With that, players who accidentally buy a cosmetic item in the Item Shop will have a short time window to return the item and get a full V-Bucks refund for it.
The same employee confirmed that in early March, when he explained that the feature was coming in addition to the current Refund Tokens system. The only way players can get their V-Bucks back for a purchase today is by using one of the three refund tokens tied to their account.
That means players’ request for a “confirm purchase” button will likely not be taken into account for that.
If the undo purchase feature works as planned, players will have a five-minute window to return their item without losing Return Tokens. During that period, players can’t start a match (even without the new item)—otherwise, they won’t be able to undo the purchase. They can still browse the game Lobby and check how the new item looks with their character’s cosmetic set.
Players have been asking Epic to add some additional system for refunding V-Bucks or undoing purchases for a while. If you accidentally hit the purchase button while browsing a skin in the Item Shop, that item is instantly added to your Locker, even if you didn’t intend to buy it at first.
The v9.10 update is set to come this week, and we know players can expect important bug fixes to come with it, like the fix to the vehicles bug and the automatic material switching bug during turbo building. Since the Epic employee said the v9.10 update was the last planned release he heard for the undo purchase feature, there’s a chance that it’s coming at a later date if plans changed since then.
