Fortnite: Battle Royale’s season nine has just started, but players have already found its first mysterious event.
A TV inside a house north of Snobby Shores is showing an old TV with no signal and the animation of a llama jumping on it. The llama makes a bouncy sound when it hits the bottom bar of the screen, and it changes the color of a circle on the top left on the screen every time it does so.
Fortnite data miner Lucas7yoshi found this video among the season nine release files last week, and it seems to be unrelated to anything revealed so far or to any other files currently in the game. The few times players saw something on the TV was in the end of season three, when players got a countdown for the rocket launch, and in season six when there was a countdown for the snowstorm hitting the island. These were two season-ending events that changed the Fortnite island drastically, but having something like this so early into the season is unusual.
There’s no way to understand what this image means, but players might find new hints as new TVs turn on with the animation or as new events unfold. So far, it seems to be related to that house only. With no countdown on the screen, we don’t even know if this is hinting at some event of season nine.
Fortnite players might see new developments of this mystery once a new update comes out, either through data miners finding more cryptic images in the game files or through them appearing in the game like this one.
