Since Fortnite fans have become accustomed to dataminers leaking unreleased cosmetic items, it probably came as a surprise to many when popular streamer Ben “DrLupo” Lupo tweeted out a bunch of unreleased cosmetics yesterday.

DrLupo, who has become one of the most recognizable streamers in the Fortnite community, sent out several tweets, which exposed quite a few skins and other cosmetics that haven’t made it into the actual game yet. The E3 version of the game, likely by design, seemingly includes unreleased skins to show popular content creators—like DrLupo—what they can expect in the near future.

Some fans speculated DrLupo tweeted out these skins without Epic Games’ permission, but it seems unlikely a well-established streamer like DrLupo, who also happens to cast official Fortnite events, to go against Epic.

The more likely scenario is that Epic instructed or simply allowed DrLupo to “leak” the skins to generate interest among DrLupo’s fans and the game’s playerbase as a whole. And while some players may bug the developer more about when certain skins will be released, it is likely worth the it considering DrLupo’s reach in Fortnite.
