‘Bullying works’: Disney Dreamlight Valley players push devs into reworking Belle

Belle is getting a glow up.

Ever since Disney Dreamlight Valley‘s launch, players have voiced complaints about certain characters’ designs. It seems Gameloft has finally taken this feedback to heart by updating Belle’s appearance in an upcoming update.

Belle’s look in Disney Dreamlight Valley has been a topic of frustration for fans ever since she and Beast were added to the game back in September 2023, with many noting how different she looked from her original design. Several of these complaints were made on public forums and social media such as Reddit, and it seems almost a year later, the devs have responded to these complaints.

Gameloft recently released a developer update trailer showing several characters and highlighting new additions coming to the game. In the trailer, Belle can briefly be seen in the back of a room, with a new appearance that looks much closer to her original design. Noticing this, several players flocked to a recent thread posted on Reddit to voice their elation on the new change, with one comment going as far as to say, “Bullying works! Belle has been fixed!”

“I hope the dream styles were updated to match. She looks much better,” said a user. “Fantastic! I’m going to hang out with the old Belle this week just to get some good photos of her current state for posterity!” said another.

This isn’t the first time the developer has responded to player feedback regarding character designs. Earlier this year, Gameloft updated Sully’s design by making the spikes on his back go all the way up like it does in the movies, a detail players were actively complaining about.

Disney Dreamlight Valley‘s Dapper Delights update, which changes Belle’s look, will launch on Aug. 21. The update will also add Tiana, new recipes, quests, outfit updates, and more.
