This Diablo 4 class actually lets you deal ‘infinite damage’ and it kinda breaks the game

This is one wild build.

Diablo 4 players have broken the Sanctuary again. This time, they’ve found a glitched Barbarian build that deals infinite (yes, genuinely infinite) damage to enemies, and spinning to win with this bugged loadout actually breaks the game.

This glitch has first popped up in Diablo 4‘s season six PTR and was first discovered by a Chinese Diablo 4 player before being recreated by Rob2628. Once he’d tested itā€”and confirmed the numbers go as high as they possibly couldā€”he shared the totally busted no-numbers damage Barbarian build on YouTube on Sept. 10 (hat-tip PCGamer).

This spin to win Barbarian build focuses on many crucial factors such as the Whirlwind ability, Thorns, and the Barbarian’s new key passive, The Barbed Carapace. With this new passive, Barbarians can gain a bonus 10 percent Thorns for eight seconds for every 25 Furry you use. This can stack up to 120 percent. Then, when you use a skill with a cooldown, you’ll also deal 100 percent of your Thorns as physical damage to the enemies close to you for five seconds. So, every time you attack, you gain more Thorns and deal more damage.

That’s not all either. If you can get over 30 ranks for Tough as Nails on your Barbarian build, you also get an additional boost to your Thorns (over 90 percent). If your enemy hits you, they’ll take 15 percent of your Thorn damage as Bleeding damage over five seconds. So, boosting Thorns through every aspect of your skill tree and paragon board is crucial to getting that broken infinity damage in Diablo 4. But achieving it requires a lot of work and getting the right items.

While the key elements of this key passive may change, along with the other features that make this build ferocious, Thorns are pretty overpowered in the PTR for season six. If you’d like to see the full details of this build, you can check out Rob’s Diablo season six PTR Whirlwind build planner for every item, skill, and paragon node he chose to make it happen.

Now I love a broken build as much as the next player, but it’s unlikely Blizzard will let such a monstrous damage-dealing setup make it through to Diablo 4 proper in season six. That being said, the developers haven’t responded to the bug yet; if it somehow slides under the radar, I may have to go against my ranged playstyle and pick up Barbarian again.

The Vessel of Hatred expansion (and maybe this busted build) drops on Oct. 8.
