Dmg04 warns Destiny 2 players not to buy codes for upcoming Spicy Ramen Coupon Emblem

It will be a gift for Bungie Day, according to the senior community manager.

Destiny 2 players shouldn’t buy codes for the upcoming Spicy Ramen Coupon emblem, according to Bungie senior community manager Dylan “dmg04” Gafner. The item will be a free gift from Bungie next month, dmg04 revealed after scalpers started selling the emblem before it was officially released.

It’s unclear how sellers obtained the emblem, but the paid-for codes will become obsolete early next month. Bungie will award the emblem to its player base as part of the Bungie Day celebrations, which take place on July 7.

Dmg04 also asked data miners to stop with the spoilers. “I know it can be exciting to be the first person with cool info, but please respect the fun,” he wrote.

Players previously uncovered the existence of the emblem through the Bungie API, but the files wouldn’t specify its source, according to destinyemblemcollector.com (the website only lists it as “unlocked by a special offer”). Bungie allows players to register for access to the API, which leads to a series of early findings of all sorts—from a first look at upcoming emblems to complete lore texts for the entire season.

The upcoming gift is a nod to Cayde-6, one of the most popular characters in the Destiny franchise. After his death in Forsaken, Bungie directed players to the Ramen Shop in the Tower, where they could receive an expired coupon for spicy ramen—a gag gift from Cayde himself.
