Destiny 2’s Echoes Act 2 livestream: Schedule, how to watch, drops, and more

The story continues.

The first act of Destiny 2‘s Echoes episode came to a close, and fans are hungry for what’s next. Bungie is giving players a taste of what’s coming with Act Two on a livestream scheduled for July 9.

Act Two is bound to bring more rewards when it kicks off on July 16, including new and coveted weapons and more story developments in a world after the Witness. The livestream will touch on some of those points, providing some ideas of what to expect from the next act.

Here’s the schedule and how you can watch the Destiny 2 Echoes Act Two livestream today.

When does the Destiny 2 Echoes Act 2 livestream begin?

The Echoes Act Two livestream is scheduled for 12pm CT (10am PT) on July 9. Bungie recommended using the time.is website for a comparison to your local time.

What will be in the Destiny 2 Echoes Act 2 livestream?

Bungie will host three developers who will talk about the next step for Echoes. This broadcast can be important for Bungie given the episodic model is new, especially since the reception for the first act of Echoes has seemingly been lukewarm. While the first act of a classic three-act structure is meant to be the introduction, Echoes’ act one didn’t feel like it brought that much to the lore table, in our opinion.

Developers will “talk about how the story will unfold and what new activities and rewards are coming,” according to Bungie. This includes more seasonal weapons, plus the second track of the season pass—which Bungie locked behind a time-gate. The game may also get new activities once Act Two kicks off.

How to watch the Destiny 2 Echoes Act 2 livestream?

The broadcast will be available through Twitch, though Bungie didn’t outline if the stream would be available on other platforms. Destiny 2 livestreams are usually available on the studio’s official Twitch channel, and generally, watching through Twitch is worth it. These broadcasts can have exclusive cosmetics that only drop from Twitch, and the Echoes Act Two livestream will also grant players a special emblem.

Guardians who watch at least 15 minutes of the broadcast can get the new “Ooo Shiny” emblem, and yes, that’s its actual name. The new flair item has a purple background and features a bird, as a likely nod to the Saint-14 storyline coming with the next act. At the end of Act One, Saint was briefly mind-controlled by the mysterious Conductor, ending the story arc temporarily. With Act Two developing that story, the legendary Titan is bound to play a role in the next steps.
