Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas, legendary Polish Counter-Strike 1.6 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player, known for his part on the longest-standing CS:GO roster Virtus Pro, is creating a new esports organization.
TaZ and the owner of the Kinguin company, Viktor Romaniuk Wanli, will be creating a new esports organization under a currently unknown name alongside esports journalist and co-owner of the media house Foszer Swaicki, Maciej Sawicki.
The new organization was announced during a press conference in Warsaw, Poland and was originally reported by Polish news site Wezlo esports. It was also announced that Team Kinguin is closing down its CS:GO and Fortnite divisions, likely due to the founding of the new organization.
Team Kinguin first appeared on the radar in 2015, representing a multi-European CS:GO squad with players such as Håvard “rain” Nygaard and Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom. The team, which will now cease to exist, saw success in recent months with TaZ shotcalling at the ESL Polish Championships.
Team Kinguin previously signed teams in CS:GO, Dota 2, Fortnite, and League of Legends, and it’s likely the new organization will strive to create new teams for these titles in the future. It’s still yet to be announced whether the organization has any particular players, teams, or games in its spotlight, but with the addition of TaZ, it’s anticipated that CS:GO will be its main focus.
For the time being, the organization will be nicknamed “Esports Performance Center” and will take part in the first season of the Polish league Ultraliga, which kicks off on Jan. 22.
