Danish esports company RFRSH Entertainment and German esports company ESL are reportedly in conflict over several coinciding Counter-Strike event dates between BLAST Pro Series and the ESL Pro League, according to Dexerto’s Jarek “DeKay” Lewis.
RFRSH reportedly claimed dates in December 2019 as backups for its events. ESL, however, picked those same dates for the Season 10 ESL Pro League Finals. ESL ended up contacting RFRSH about the issue and the two companies came to an agreement. But RFRSH contacted ESL last month to say that there’s now a conflict with the earlier agreement.
Details about ESL’s Pro League Finals for season 10 haven’t been revealed yet since season nine, which will be held in Montpellier, France at the end of June, is still ongoing.
RFRSH and BLAST Pro Series have also been dealing with another controversy recently. The Counter-Strike community has been vocal about its feelings toward one of the newest circuits to enter the CS:GO scene, even going as far as starting a movement against BLAST.
RFRSH has hosted multiple tournaments this year, and several teams—like Astralis and Team Liquid—may have to skip other major tournaments in order to attend BLAST’s events.
