Olofmeister extends his break from FaZe, cromen to stand-in

FaZe's Major-winning Swede will be absent from the lineup for a little longer.

It turns out that Olof “olofmeister” Kjajber’s official return to Counter-Strike has been delayed a bit longer.

FaZe Clan announced earlier today that olofmeister isn’t quite ready to return to competition, and he’ll be missing the ECS Season Five Finals this upcoming weekend. The team is bringing on Heroic’s rifler Jorgen “cromen” Robertsen as a temporary replacement until olofmeister is absolutely sure about concluding his hiatus, which has been ongoing since April.

“I thought I was ready to comeback but I wasn’t,” olofmeister said in FaZe’s statement. “I really wanted to make it work but stressed my comeback in doing so. It’s all my own fault and I should have [listened] to myself. I will take a much longer break and come back when I am 110 percent.”

FaZe has selected cromen as a stand-in because their last substitute, Richard “xizt” Landstorm, signed with Fnatic over a week ago and also because Heroic did not qualify for the $660,000 event. It’s unclear whether cromen will continue to fill olofmeister’s vacated spot after the ECS Finals or if he’ll be eventually be replaced because he is still acting as a filler for Heroic.

This will be cromen’s biggest gig in his career, since he has only shown his talent on well-known international rosters, such as Heroic and the last European iteration of Team Dignitas.

FaZe has not established a timetable for olofmeister’s hiatus. The team is also expected to compete at ESL One Belo Horizonte next week and at ESL One Cologne in July.
