Maikelele surprised many by leaving the side after their disappointing run at MLG Columbus, where the side fell to a struggling Fnatic in the group stage. The player has been the face of the team since it was formed last year.

Kioshima joins the squad after leaving legendary French side EnvyUs. The team was, and still is, in a slump of form when the player left the lineup. Kioshima has teased about moving to various sides on his Twitter account for several weeks, but only yesterday confirmed that his destination was FaZe Clan.

His first game with FaZe will be at the upcoming $250,000 DreamHack Masters event in Malmo, Sweden. FaZe and Kioshima’s former side EnvyUs have been placed in the same group draw for the tournament, so a rematch could be on the cards. As it stands, both teams are experiencing a dip in form, so both will be looking to turn their fortunes around in the coming week in Sweden.

In its Facebook post announcing the move, FaZe also announced that there would be “more news to come soon.”
