Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund announced earlier today that he’ll play with NiP for the fifth-straight year. GeT_RiGhT has been considered to be one of the most successful Swedish Counter-Strike player throughout the franchise’s’ history. He was one of the first established CS 1.6 players to transition to CS:GO after signing on with NiP in 2012. The team went on to make history, winning 87 maps in a row on LAN, a streak that may very well be the most dominant in esports history.

Since 2015, however, NiP have struggled to retain the same level of performance and have gradually gone through several slumps in terms of performance. The team failed to qualify for the upcoming ELEAGUE Major, which will take place between Jan. 22-29, making it the first Valve Major the Swedish team will be missing out on since having been introduced to the scene. Despite those struggles, four players from the original NiP core have stayed together.

In fact, it’s not clear if NiP will be making any changes to its 2016 roster. The team still succeeded in taking home two international events at Dreamhack Masters Malmö in April, and IEM Oakland in November.
