The 2019 installment in the popular first-person shooter franchise will reportedly be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, according to Kotaku news editor Jason Schreier.

Although we don’t know much about the upcoming Call of Duty title, many rumors pointed to the game being called Modern Warfare 4. But, according to Schreier, four (or any number) won’t be in the game’s name.

Regardless of its official title, the 2019 game will be the fourth new installment in the Modern Warfare series, following Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, and Modern Warfare 3. A remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare Remastered, was released in 2016.

In another tweet, Schreier also claims that Activision is using the upcoming Modern Warfare game as a “soft reboot” of the franchise.

Many Call of Duty fans are eager for Activision to reveal some official information about the upcoming game. Activision or Infinity Ward haven’t confirmed the name of the next CoD yet.
