The last time OpTic Gaming and Rise Nation squared off in the Call of Duty World League Pro League, Daniel “Loony” Loza and crew swept the Green Wall on June 7.
But today, Seth “Scump” Abner, Ian “Crimsix” Porter, Sam “Octane” Larew, and Anthony “Methodz” Zinni took down Rise 3-1 to jump into first place in Division B.
When these two teams faced off on June 7, Rise crushed OpTic on Sainte Marie du Mont Hardpoint—this map was much closer today, though, and the Green Wall took game one 250-226.
Rise responded immediately with a hard-fought 6-4 win on Valkyrie Search and Destroy thanks to an 11-kill performance by Loony. But OpTic, who are undefeated on Flak Tower Capture the Flag in Stage Two, used a strong first half to take map three 4-0.
With a 2-1 advantage in the series, the Green Wall won London Docks Hardpoint 250-206—and Scump was extremely animated following the 3-1 victory. This win pushes OpTic into first place at 9-3, tied with UNILAD, who they’ll play against tomorrow.
In the other matches on Tuesday, UNILAD qualified for the Stage Two playoffs after sweeping Mindfreak and Tainted Minds. Doug “Censor” Martin and compLexity put a damper on Luminosity’s playoff hopes with a 3-0 win, while eUnited beat Mindfreak 3-1.
