Apex Legends’ flying glitch explained

One of the few long-running Apex glitches is still hanging around.
This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Since Apex Legends launched Feb. 4, the dev team has done a great job keeping up with any errors that have popped up. There’s one huge issue that still persists, however: players being able to fly around the map indefinitely.

The glitch essentially takes a player who is about to land and launches them right back up into the air before they touch the ground. After the rubber-banding character model settles into the air again, the player can then fly around the entire map freely.

Flying while using the glitch looks a bit choppier than when players first drop in, but after they are thrown back into the air, players can drop back down whenever they want and land safely. This gives them players the opportunity to drop wherever they want on the map while scouting the area out.

This glitch is exploitable, but Respawn has been on top of the issue, banning players who abuse exploits and glitches to cheat the game. Along with its constant updates, it looks like the company are hard at work removing this glitch from the game.

The flying glitch has been around for about seven days, but it isn’t the only prominant glitch either.

The Peacekeeper shotgun currently has a bug that allows players to fire all six shots in quick succession to do massive damage. It is reminiscent of the swap shooting that was prevalent in Fortnite, but this time it is using the same weapon repeatedly by canceling the reload animation by swapping weapons and quickly swapping back.

There is also a bug that allows The Pathfinder to reset his wall climbing by purposefully missing with his grappling hook and another huge one that allows a player to continue using their weapons even after they are downed.
