Update 1:20 p.m. CT:  It looks like the battle pass may not arrive today after all. Streamers on the Official EA Central YouTube channel have not confirmed the battle pass, and say they are unable to comment on leaks. We will update this story if more information becomes available.
We’ve all known for a while now that Apex Legends inaugural season would start sometime in March.
Based on a variety of clues and potential leaks, players think season one and the battle pass might come today, March 12.
The screenshot pictured above shows a character who players believe to be Octane, the High Speed Daredevil. It also gives a host of information about the season one battle pass, including how much it will cost.
The leak was posted to Reddit by a user under the name Spliddo who claimed it was on his Origin client for a bit before being taken down. The thread gained steam and many other players began to report the same.
This led the community to theorize about why this might have happened. There is currently a live stream planned through EA later this afternoon. Many believe these images were meant to be posted to the launcher after season one is announced on the live stream.
If season one actually is revealed today and we do get the battle pass, players will have some exciting rewards to look forward to. The leaked image teases that for 950 Apex coins (around $10) players will be able to score new weapons and other fresh unique loot.
While the stream itself doesn’t hint at having anything to do with a battle pass or new character, it wouldn’t be out of style for the Apex crew to drop the news on us out of no where. Apex itself was a surprise release, and many would argue this helped make it successful. Hopefully, Respawn surprises us all again, and later today we can start grinding our battle passes.
