A player has found a groundbreaking exploit in Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends that lets Pathfinder continuously fire his grappling hook.

The lovable robot is already Apex’s most mobile Legend. Combining his nimble grapple and his zipline, he could easily feature in the sequel to the Oscar-winning film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. He’s a character that has the ability to zoom across the map with ease. But now, with the help of an exploit found by u/scathropi, Pathfinder has the potential to go supersonic.

Pathfinder’s tactical ability Grappling Hook is originally intended to allow him to reposition around the map. It can be used to give you a height advantage that can be crucial in a fight or as a tool to help you quickly head toward the impending circle.

But Scathopi has discovered that the character is even more dynamic than expected. It appears that if you position Pathfinder vertically up against a wall and look straight up, he can slowly inch himself up by continuously spamming his tactical grappling hook. This allows him to get to areas of the map that previously weren’t possible to scale, and in some situations, he can use it to take advantage of unsuspecting players.

Respawn has been consistent with patching Apex, and has already issued a number of hotfixes. A new patch could be coming any day now that will fix the exploit. But for the time being, Pathfinder’s grapple is practically begging to be abused.
