Should you skip the campaign in Diablo 4 season 5?

Is it worth another playthrough?

As you need to create a new seasonal character to enjoy Diablo 4’s fifth season, you must decide whether to skip the campaign or complete the story again. There are pros and cons to playing through the campaign and skipping it, and the best choice depends on how you want to spend your time in season five.

Yes, you should skip the campaign in Diablo 4 season five. The benefits of skipping the campaign outweigh the benefits of playing through it again. That being said, it’s not a clear slam dunk, of course. I’d recommend playing through the Diablo 4 story campaign again if you honestly don’t remember some of the main missions and bosses or if you want to hone your new class’ skills in a more controlled environment.

I plan on skipping the Diablo 4 season five campaign because I want to dive immediately into the new content. I find I can level much faster outside of the story campaign, where I can play and level exactly how I want.

If you choose not to skip the story and delay the Season of the Infernal Hordes, you must complete every campaign mission. While you have access to some of your Aspects in the Codex of Power, you must also find new gear for your character and level them up.

The only real benefit of completing the campaign again is you can spend time finding a playstyle you like and developing it. If you’re using a class you have never used before, then going through the story missions gives you enough time to understand the skills and mechanics of the class before you reach the upgraded endgame content of Diablo 4. It can also be cool to experience the story bosses again as a new class.

Of course, the main downside to playing through the Diablo 4 campaign again is then you don’t get to start the new seasonal questline in season five until you’ve finished the campaign. Completing the campaign also takes some considerable time, so it might not really be the best option if you’re on a time crunch.

If you skip the campaign, you immediately gain access to the season five questline and endgame content, like the Sanctuary, Tree of Whispers, and World Bosses.

The main benefit to doing this is you get to experience a fresh questline as soon as you enter the Seasonal Realm with your new character. This gives you access to the season five content much more quickly and can make Diablo 4 feel like a new experience rather than going through the motions in the campaign again.

Of course, the primary con of skipping the campaign is that you launch right into Diablo 4’s endgame loop. If you’re using a new class, you must figure things out on the fly regarding what skills you want to use, and the gear sets to equip. This won’t be a huge issue if you’re referencing leveling and endgame build guides for your class.
