The final 3 PUBG teams invited to IEM Oakland have been revealed

Evil Geniuses, Method, and Tempo Storm are the final three teams to be invited to the $200,000 PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Invitational at IEM Oakland next month.

These three squads round out the 12 invited teams, with the final eight teams to be decided in this weekend’s online qualifier. From there, 20 teams total will fight it out in a series of FPP Squads games to decide a winner.

EG, Method, and Tempo join a list of teams that includes TSM, Team Liquid, Noble, Luminosity, Alliance, Cloud9, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Gorilla Core, and Penta.

Evil Geniuses’ invitation coincided with their signing of the team grantJokur. Cole “Gnomey” Garton, Timothy “GOUL” McClelland, and Austin “zWattz” Watts will be playing under the EG banner.

IEM Oakland will be ESL’s second attempt at a PUBG tournament after their first event at gamescom earlier this summer. That event was rough around the edges at times but showed promise for the game’s future as an esports title.

Hopefully, IEM Oakland will show improvements and offer a better spectator experience, as PUBG heads towards a full release before the end of 2017—and many more inevitable esports events down the line.
