Starfield PC specs: What are the minimum PC requirements?

Find out if your PC can handle the full brunt of space.

Starfield stands out as one of Bethesda’s most ambitious titles ever created. But it comes with a catch: it demands a powerful PC setup. While the minimum PC requirements are already quite high, if you’re aiming for the optimal gaming experience, the recommended requirements are even more demanding.

Starfield minimum PC requirements

Starfield needs a pretty good computer to run. You can’t use an old-style hard drive; you need an SSD with at least 125GB of free space. Also, your computer should have 16GB of RAM and a newer graphics card.

Luckily, the computer parts needed to play Starfield, like the processor and graphics card, are about five years old. So, most players probably have these or can get them easily. But, if you have an older computer, you might need more RAM.

  • OS: Windows 10 version 22H2 (10.0.19045)
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, Intel Core i7-6800K
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5700, NVIDIA GeForce 1070 Ti
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 125 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: SSD Required

If you happen to exceed the minimum PC requirements for Starfield, you can also check out the recommended PC requirements, which are what you need to play the game at 1080p, 60 frames per second.

  • OS: Windows 10/11 with updates
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, Intel i5-10600K
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 125 GB available space
  • Additional Notes: SSD Required

Sometimes you can get by without meeting the exact PC requirements for certain games. They might still run, just not as smoothly.

However, if you want to play without any hiccups and enjoy higher settings, you’ll definitely need better computer parts to play Starfield. This is especially true if you’re aiming for more than 30 FPS on a 720p resolution.
