Druid enters a whole new world of ramp with its legendary weapon

It's the latest card to be unveiled.
This article is over 7 years old and may contain outdated information

Remember Astral Communion? That card was always pretty fun. It allowed Druids to ramp like never before, grabbing ten mana crystals way early—but at the cost of their whole hand.

Now Hearthstone‘s Druid players have another major ramp tool coming in the next expansion.

This card, translated as Twig of the World Tree, is the Druid legendary weapon. Each of the nine classes will be getting a legendary weapon in this expansion.

A four mana 1/5 weapon is of course very underwhelming, but that’s not what this is for. Once the five charges are exhausted, it has a crazy Deathrattle: Gain 10 mana crystals.

This is ramp on a scale never seen before without a major drawback. This has the potential to be an incredibly impactful card in the way Druid is built. It also answers one of the major criticisms of the legendary weapons—that if they are too powerful, everyone will just run weapon destruction. That would just work in this card’s favor.

The card was revealed on Chinese news site NGA.

The new expansion, Kobolds and Catacombs, will release sometime in December. A concrete release date has not yet been announced.

If you are planning to invest real money in a bunch of packs, make sure you pre-order them for the best value. The bundle of 50 packs and an exclusive card back is $49.99.
