Silver Vanguard is the latest Recruit card in Hearthstone’s next expansion

One of the new mechanics being added to Hearthstone is the focus of the latest new card reveal.

The next expansion, Kobolds and Catacombs, adds a bunch of new stuff to the game. Only time will tell if these new mechanics end up like Discover, or like Joust.

Silver Vanguard is a seven mana 3/3—what? Oh, there it is. When it dies, it brings an eight mana minion from your deck into the field.

This card is one of a few in the set that bare the new mechanic Recruit. It essentially works like Barnes, but summons the minion with its normal stats instead of as a 1/1. This card would obviously require a deck with good eight drops in it, maybe something like Paladin with Tirion Fordring and The Lich King.

But in reality this is probably far too slow to see play. If it was a Battlecry, maybe we’d be on to something.
