Overwatch hero Moira entered the game on Nov. 16, but she’s been absent from Competitive Play for a week.
She’ll become playable in Overwatch’s ranked queue around on Nov. 23, Overwatch lead engineer Bill Warnecke confirmed in the game’s forum. “Hey there, Moira will unlock in competitive around 11am PT tomorrow (Thursday),” he wrote.

The timeline isn’t new for Overwatch heroes entering the game. Blizzard typically gives players a week to test out Moira before adding her to Competitive Play, where players are ranked by skill. By doing so, the developer encourages potential Moira mains to give her a shot in Quick Play.
Moira was first announced at BlizzCon on Nov. 3 in Anaheim, California. The talon geneticist had a short stay on Overwatch’s PTR before she entered the live game last week. She’s certainly shaken up the Overwatch meta in Quick Play, but we’ve yet to see her full impact on the competitive scene.
Once she’s entered the meta in Competitive Play, it shouldn’t be long before professional players start warming up to her, too.
