ExceL Esports, one of the new teams joining the recently-franchised European League of Legends esports league, has unveiled its rebrand moving forward.
ExceL’s old logo was a weird mismatch of different-colored shapes overlapping each other, making it look like an “X” was behind a yellow letter “L”. The organization’s new logo, however, looks more like a computer mouse pointer.
The rebranded logo is even more humorous when you consider the fact that Excel is the name of one of the many Microsoft Office applications found on most computers. By changing its logo to look a lot like a mouse pointer, ExceL is reinforcing the meme that has already been circulating in the League community.
Spreadsheets and computer programs aside, ExceL will be competing in the LEC, the new name given to the EU LCS, in a couple of weeks. The 2019 LEC schedule still hasn’t been revealed by Riot Games, however.
ExceL’s roster features top laner Ki “Expect” Dae-han, jungler Marc “Caedrel” Lamont, mid laner Fabian “Exileh” Schubert, ADC Jesper “Jeskla” Stromberg, and support Raymong “kaSing” Tsang. ExceL has also brought in five other players who will compete for spots in the starting and Academy lineups.
