Here are the best artifacts for Yelan in Genshin Impact

It's going to depend on what role you want her to play.

The expansive world of Teyvat in Genshin Impact is always adding more playable characters to recruit, but featured characters also regularly receive reruns to grant players another chance to add them to their roster.

Yelan is a five-star Hydro Bow character who will help you find immense success regardless of how you use her, but if you want to maximize her potential then you’ll need to equip her with the best artifacts available.

What are the best artifacts for Yelan in Genshin Impact?

Because Yelan is a versatile and powerful unit, the best artifacts for her will vary depending on whether you are using her as a secondary damage dealer or support unit. Generally, you will want to equip her with Emblem of Severed Fate if she is primarily a secondary damage dealer and Noblesse Oblige if she is more support focused but there are also additional powerful options beyond just these two.

The team composition you create for Yelan will also drastically affect what kind of artifacts you should supply her with. Characters who are immensely versatile like Yelan are both easy and tough to choose artifacts for. It’s easy since you have many options to choose from, but this is also why it’s tough since narrowing down what works best for her can be tricky.

Overall, you’ll want artifacts that bring out Yelan’s strongest attributes: her elemental burst and her damage stack based on her max HP. Because of this, building both her health points and her elemental burst damage through the artifacts you choose for her is essential.

Emblem of Severed Fate

  • Two-piece effect: Energy Recharge increased by 20 percent.
  • Four-piece effect: Increases Elemental Burst damage by 25 percent of Energy Recharge. A maximum of 75 percent bonus damage can be obtained in this way.
  • Location: You’ll find the Emblem of Severed Fate set at the Momiji-Dyed Court Domain in Yashiori Island, Inazuma.

If you’re running a secondary damage-dealing focused version of Yelan, then the full four-piece Emblem of Severed Fate set is your best bet overall. Yelan works best as a secondary damage dealer and this is the role you should place her in if possible.

Noblesse Oblige

  • Two-piece effect: Raises elemental burst damage by 20 percent.
  • Four-piece effect: Using an elemental burst will raise all party members’ attack by 20 percent for 12 seconds. This ability cannot stack.
  • Location: You can obtain this set from the Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern Domain in Minlin, Liyue.

The Noblesse Oblige set is a great choice for Yelan and is the one I currently have equipped for her. I find that it serves my entire party really well, but you might only prefer the two-piece version of this set alongside another set depending on who you have Yelan allied with and which parts of her skillset you need to build the most.

Tenacity of the Millelith

  • Two-piece effect: Raises health points by 20 percent.
  • Four-piece effect: When an elemental skill strikes an enemy, the attack of all nearby party members is raised by 20 percent and their shield strength is increased by 30 percent for the next three seconds. This effect may be activated once every 0.5 seconds regardless of whether the equipping character is active on the battlefield.
  • Location: This set is obtainable at the Ridge Watch Domain in Bishui Plain, Liyue.

Generally, you’ll probably only want the two-piece version of the Tenacity of the Millelith set on Yelan unless you have some kind of shielding character on her team. I’m working toward equipping the two-piece version of this set alongside the two-piece Noblesse Oblige set on Yelan but it also pairs extremely well with other sets.

Since Yelan scales off of health points, have at least a two-piece set focused on raising her health points is a great way to build her overall skillset.

Heart of Depth

  • Two-piece effect: Grants a Hydro damage bonus of 15 percent.
  • Four-piece effect: After an elemental skill has been used, normal attack damage and charged attack damage are raised by 30 percent for 15 seconds.
  • Location: You’ll find this set at the Peak of Vindagnyr Domain in Dragonspine, Mondstadt.

If you want to build Yelan’s Hydro damage then the two-piece Heart of Depth set is a great choice for her. Yelan’s best abilities aren’t her normal or charged attack, so you won’t want the full four-piece set on her, but the two-piece Heart of Depth set will function well alongside another set.

Vourukasha’s Glow

  • Two-piece effect: Increases health points by 20 percent.
  • Four-piece effect: Elemental skill and elemental burst damage is increased by 10 percent. After the equipping character takes damage, this damage increase is raised by another 80 percent for five seconds. This effect can stack up to five times, the duration of each stack is determined separately from the rest, and the effect may be activated regardless of whether the equipping recruit is on the battlefield.
  • Location: This set can be obtained from the Molten Iron Fortress Domain in Girdle of the Sands, Sumeru.

If you want to bolster Yelan’s health points as much as possible then it’s a great option to equip her with the two-piece Vourukasha’s Glow set alongside the two-piece Tenacity of the Millelith set. This will make all of her abilities even more potent and powerful.

While full four-piece artifact sets can be a powerful choice, sometimes it’s a better option to mix and match between sets. Doing this will apply two unique two-piece buffs to your character and this is an excellent way to build a complex recruit like Yelan.

Some of the best artifact combination options for Yelan are:

  • Two-piece Vourukasha’s Glow and two-piece Tenacity of the Millelith
  • Two-piece Emblem of Severed Fate and two-piece Noblesse Oblige
  • Two-piece Emblem of Severed Fate and two-piece Tenacity of the Millelith
  • Two-piece Emblem of Severed Fate and two-piece Heart of Depth
  • Two-piece Emblem of Severed Fate and two-piece Vourukasha’s Glow
  • Two-piece Noblesse Oblige and two-piece Tenacity of the Millelith
  • Two-piece Noblesse Oblige and two-piece Heart of Depth
  • Two-piece Heart of Depth and two-piece Tenacity of the Millelith
  • Two-piece Vourukasha’s Glow and two-piece Noblesse Oblige
  • Two-piece Vourukasha’s Glow and two-piece Heart of Depth
