Fortnite: Battle Royale players will finally be able to send gifts to their friends, but the feature will only be available for one week.
With the v6.31 update, Fortnite players can send gifts to friends in the item shop. Gifting is available to all users—unless you opt out of it—except players on iOS devices, since Apple’s policies don’t allow it. The initial gifting period is just a trial, and will last for one week.

It’s a simple process. Players will need to navigate to Fortnite’s Item Shop and select an item. Two options will be available: purchase for you or buy as a gift. Selecting the buy as a gift option will prompt a window asking which friend to send it to, alongside an option for a custom message. Your recipient will get the gift box when they log in next.
The gifting feature is available only to those that have multi-factor authentication enabled, and gifts can only be sent to players who’ve been your friend for at least 48 hours. Gifts can only be sent three times within a 24-hour period, and they’re not refundable. Folks uninterested in receiving gifts can disable the feature in Fortnite’s account settings.
Fortnite’s v6.31 update went live this morning, adding new shotguns and fixing mounted turrets. Dataminers have already discovered a bunch of new skins hidden in Fortnite’s game files, including options for new skins, pickaxes, and back blings. None of the items have been confirmed by Epic just yet. But if they’re confirmed soon, the new items can be gifts to your friends.
