Quake Champions is the first entry in the Quake series since 2005’s Quake 4, and has been in open beta since May 12. It’s a first-person arena shooter, which pits players against each other in a deathmatch with weapons and ammo scattered across the maps.

The early access version of the game will release on Aug. 22 as part of the Champions Pack, which will include all current and future champions, as well as exclusive in-game bonuses for a discounted price of $30, down from $40.

As part of the announcement, Bethesda has confirmed that Doom Guy, the main character from the Doom series of games, is Quake Champions’ newest playable character.

Doom Guy will be the first and only character in the game that will be able to double jump, a popular ability that he can use in his own series of games, which allows him to reach areas others could struggle to get to.

Two new maps, challenges, and improvements will also be released as part of the launch of early access, with Bethesda promising to continue to update the game. Six new characters are currently planned to come out before the end of 2018.
