While Priest has always run powerful Deathrattle minions in the past and several players trying out N’zoth Priest builds in the past, it’s time for the archetype to shine with a lot of support coming in the way of the class and the legendary Priest quest making things easier. Today we bring you an Un’goro Deathrattle Priest featuring some of the new cards. Amara, Warden of Hope is one of the best possible replacements for Reno Jackson as it allows you to burst heal without requiring you to run a singleton deck. The deck also mixes in the ‘steal’ theme of Priest that allows you to grab some of your opponent’s cards and use it to your advantage.
Let’s take a look at some of the new cards that feature in the deck:
Spiritsinger Umbra: It is one of the very interesting legendaries to be revealed in the expansion and it is basically a Baron Rivendare but the deathrattles activate instantly.
Crystalline Oracle: It is a very cheap and efficient way of getting your quest done fairly quickly and it definitely is a high value card. It is very reminiscent of Swashburglar but it is a Deathrattle effect which makes its inclusion worth it in a Priest Quest deck. If you manage to draw these in the early game along with your early game deathrattles most of your quest will be done fairly quickly. Also, you can potentially steal copies of your opponent’s deathrattle minions too!
Tortollan Shellraiser: The 4 mana slot has always been chaotic for Priest and to fit in enough Deathrattle minions we end up overloading the mana slot with the new card Tortollan Shellraiser. While it not might seem to be the best card against slower decks, in an aggressive meta the card does have the potential to shine. When Bloodhoof Brave was announced, people dismissed the card because of the weak stats but it became a meta card for Control Warrior lists after release for a long time against aggressive decks and there’s no reason why Tortollan Shellraiser cannot shine.
Mirage Caller: Since the Priest quest requires you to summon cards and not play them to complete the quest, Mirage Caller can shine through and offer double the value on some of your cheap deathrattles. I would definitely try this card out because there are only so many deathrattles you can fit in due to quality or deckbuilding restrictions.
Awaken The Makers: One of the two centerpieces of the deck aside of N’zoth. You definitely want to keep the Quest card in your starting hand and play it turn 1 and you should be able to get your quest done fairly quickly with pretty much all of your deathrattle minions capping out at 4 mana. Amara, Warden of Hope is definitely a powerful quest reward and it can win you games against aggressive decks on its own if you manage to finish your quest fast enough.
We hope you guys enjoy the decklist and try out what Priest has to offer this expansion.
