This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

Welcome back to Streamer Watch! where we showcase some of the top decks of Hearthstone’s best streamers! I hope you all had a great Christmas and are enjoying some time off work or school or you’re super rich and this is just another day of bliss! The holidays have been a bit crazy for me and my hopes of continuing this series during that time was dashed, but here are some streamer’s decks over the past week at varying points of the ladder. Look for another installment in a few days!

Trump’s Reno Zoo

Legend 1888

This deck is the most innovative deck I’ve seen lately so I wanted to lead off with it. It’s a Warlock Zoo deck that fights for board control and overwhelms the opponent with efficient trades, sticky minions, and burst to finish out the game. But we also have, in this deck, a major come-back mechanism in Mr. reno jackson, however this is not the most utilized purpose of this bold explorer. Instead, Reno allows you to dig deep into your deck without worrying about the drawback to your health that excessive tapping will bring. An important note: wrathguard is in this deck because he can trade with anything early and health isn’t much of a concern, however do not play him against a warrior with a lot of armor or late in the game when he can potentially gain armor quickly. A huge shield slam on your wrathguard can bring about a surprising death (a warrior did this to me when my piloted shredder coughed up a wrathguard upon death.

Reynad’s Control Priest

Rank 5

I thought Reynad playing Priest was interesting enough alone to post.  This control Priest is built to crush aggro with two copies of pyromancer, deathlord, and sludge belcher, and flash heal, while still being viable in the late game with x 2 entomb and justicar trueheart.

Forsen’s Malygos Rogue

Forsen Legend 463

A “miracle” rogue variation which seeks to draw a massive amount of cards with gadgetzan auctioneer + cheap spells such as backstab, preparation, deadly poison, and multiple the coin‘s from tomb pillager. Then our good friend “the combo god” emperor thaurissan discounts a pile of cards one of which should be malygos and a few spells to later OTK with a +5 spell damage flurry.

Forsen’s Mech Mage

Legend 580

A really fun deck to climb with especially with the inclusion of the new gorillabot a-3. This mech deck is geared more toward the late game with a couple clockwork knight‘s and a piloted sky golem. If you’re looking for a deck that overwhelms the board with strong minions than give this one a shot!

BlackFireIce’s Midrange Druid

Legend 1069

I liked this take on Mid-range Druid and how well it did against most decks. Note the 6 early taunts in sen’jin shieldmasta, druid of the claw, and sludge belcher no doubt combating aggro shaman. While the current meta has really cut out a lot of the aggro shamans this variation forces the secret pally to trade into you thereby mitigating the secrets.

Ryzen’s Oil Rogue

Legend 1397

Ryzen is one of the best rogue players out there right now and this is his take on oil rogue. I find it interesting that he foregoes tomb pillager for x 2 piloted shredder‘s and x 2 violet teacher‘s.  The more I thought about it and watched this deck in action, pillager is not missed and the extra shredder’s or teacher’s always end up being very valuable. The oil rogue is centered around tinker’s sharpsword oil in combination with blade flurry and is pretty skill intensive.  If you are proficient with the decisions turn-to-turn than this should now be a good time to climb those extra ranks or push for Legend!

Lowelo’s Freeze Mage

Legend 806

A fairly typical Mage list that doesn’t run a pyroblast but instead focuses on clearing the early game easily with the inclusion of 1 x explosive sheep and 1 x cone of cold. As always, the goal of the deck is to stall the game with: Board Clears = frost nova + doomsayer, blizzard, and flamestrike; Board Freeze = an early doomsayer essentially “freezing” any plays by the opponent, frost nova, blizzard, and cone of cold. Heavy card draw to dig for your win conditions with: loot hoarder, acolyte of pain, and arcane intellect. Win conditions: emperor thaurissan discounting burn spells, alexstrasza into following turn burn spells, archmage antonidas + discounted spells filling your hand with fireball‘s.

Conclusion

I really hope these snapshots of great players and how they are climbing the ladder helps you decide on the best approach for you to reach ladder greatness! If there are any specific streamers you’d like me to cover I will do my best to accommodate your request :).

As always, thank you for reading!

Much love,

P.S. If you want to laugh and have a good time, stop by my stream!
