Cloud9 release Ritsu from Dota roster after leak controversy

Cloud9 has parted ways with one of it’s Dota 2 players after just two months on the roster.

Ravi “Ritsu” Kodippili was dropped from the team’s roster following its exit from the Frankfurt Major on Saturday, citing “indiscretions of his past” and problems with “out-of-game conduct.”

Though the team didn’t elaborate, Kodippili has recently been engulfed in controversy surrounding leaked scrim information. Kodippili and other North American players, including ROOT’s Eric “747” Dong and Mason Venne (formerly of High Council of Wizards and Priests) created a Skype group to share information about fellow North American team Digital Chaos. Kodippili admitted his involvement in a now-deleted Reddit post that in turn inadvertently outed the others involved. Kodippili claimed that such behavior was commonplace in the North American Dota scene.

The player admitted that he hadn’t worked to improve his behavior, but that his removal was “not something I can fault them for.”

Cloud9’s Dota team have had a disappointing year. After failing to make the top eight at The International it replaced its entire roster. But that clearly didn’t pay off the way the team hoped it would.
