In the midst of the game’s ongoing offseason, Detroit-based esports team Renegades has acquired the services of Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad. The Norwegian player will be competing with the primarily Australian Renegades line-up in the upcoming season of ESL Pro League, which is set to start on Feb. 13.

Jkaem’s place on the team is seemingly just temporary, joining the existing Australian trio of Aaron “AZR” Ward, Justin “jks” Savage, and Karlo “USTILO” Pivac, and American Noah “Nifty” Francis.

The acquisition of Jkaem comes two months after the 23-year-old was removed from Team Dignitas, as the organization elected to disband its European CS:GO roster. Dignitas has elected to pick up a North American roster instead, signing the team formerly known as SoaR Gaming.

Although experiencing tremendous early success in his professional career with G2 Esports and FaZe Clan, jkaem was unable to achieve any noteworthy results with Team Dignitas throughout 2017. The team was plagued with roster issues and never picked up any steam.

Jkaem is also the fourth Scandinavian player to move to the U.S. in the wake of the ELEAGUE Major: Boston’s conclusion. Danish players René “cajunb” Borg, Jacob “k0nfig” Wienecke, and Nicklas “gade” Gade are the core of the new OpTic Gaming roster announced yesterday.
