How to beat Noble Arcanine in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

If you know the moves, surviving and defeating Hisuian Arcanine is easy.

Some of the Noble Pokémon you will encounter in Pokémon Legends: Arceus will have more meaningful story moments than others, which is why the third Noble will likely be many players’ favorite.

After exploring the Cobalt Coastlands, you will learn the backstory behind the Lord of the Isles and see a new reign be born before battling a frenzied Hisuian Arcanine.

Just like with all frenzied Noble Pokémon, you won’t just be battling with your own team. Instead, you’ll need to use special Balms and challenge Arcanine yourself to get the job done, even if your heart might not be in it.

This will be the first Noble Pokémon battle to actually iterate on the system, tossing more moves your way as you try to calm the newly crowned lord, so be prepared for a difficulty spike.

Hisuian Arcanine will utilize two additional attacks compared to his Noble brethren. This includes a basic charge and a jump attack with an area-of-effect impact, along with a flaming circle that can cause lasting damage and the ability to shoot flaming orbs.

Much like Kleavor, when Arcanine’s eyes glisten, dodge out of the way because it will rush in the direction where it is looking. Similarly, the jump attack is just like Lilligant and you just need to dodge the telegraphed landing area to escape unharmed.

If you see balls of fire begin to form near Arcanine, you can cancel them out by hitting them with Balms. Extinguishing or dodging them all will daze Arcanine, allowing you to battle it with your own Pokémon for a chance to lower its frenzy bar and stun it, opening it up to hit with more Balms.

During the fight, Hisuian Arcanine will begin charging an attack with orbs. When you see these begin to form, simply toss balms at the Pokémon and they will disappear one by one. When they are all gone, Hisuian Arcanine will be dazed so you can throw a Pokémon and begin the regular battle phase.

The final attack Hisuian Arcanine uses is a ring of fire that is placed on the ground and remains there for a set duration of time, the narrow battlefield could cause this to be annoying, but as long as you are aware of your surroundings you can avoid this easily.

Hisuian Arcanine is a Fire/Rock-type, so using one of the several powerful Water-types located in the area or bringing a Rock, Ground, or Fighting-type should make the battle portion run smoothly.
