The Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) and its World Championship at Katowice, Poland on Mar. 12-15 will feature a tournament with the best teams in the game facing off for a prize pool worth approximately $183,000.

The four teams who won the last four IEM events received invites: Shenzhen winners Team WE, San Jose champions Cloud9, Cologne victors Gambit Gaming, and Taipei’s best Yoe Flash Wolves.

In addition, the teams at the top of the standings in three of the four premiere leagues around the globe will receive invites. The teams leading the NA League Championship Series (LCS) and EU LCS after week five of the season will receive invites, as will the leaders of the Korean Champions league at the halfway point of their season.

GE Tigers, currently sitting at 6-0 lording over Korea, is already guaranteed to be that leader, and has received and accepted an invite to the Katowice tournament.

In the NA LCS, Counter Logic Gaming and Team SoloMid are currently tied for first place with 5-1 records, the two favorites to earn a spot. They meet each other this weekend, but there’s still two weeks of play before an IEM qualifier is decided.

SK Gaming currently sits atop the EU LCS with a 6-0 record, but Fnatic is right behind them at 5-1 and the 4-2 Elements still has a shot to advance over the next two weeks.

The invitation of Korea’s best team to a midseason event featuring top squads from Europe and North America will provide fans with an explosive display of international League of Legends in just one month.
