Jason “Amaz” Chan’s and his Archon have been prolific in organizing tournaments since their inception. With four editions of the Pinnacle event in the books and the recent Blackrock Mountain release tournament, Chan is now bringing something different to the tournament scene.

The Blackrock Team Brawl will see eight teams of two players compete over three days. Though details of the format have not yet been released, the Daily Dot understands that the teams will play the tournament matches together instead of playing matches individually.

The only example of a similar format came way back in the days of the now-defunct ESGN Fight Night, when teams of four or five players would play a match at the end of the series with all of the players fighting over the mouse.

Two of the teams have been announced so far. The highly decorated pair of Cong “StrifeCro” Shu and Aleksandr “Kolento” Malsh will represent Cloud9, while Archon’s newest signing Jon “Orange” Westberg will be teaming with Jesper “Freakeh” Eriksson. Eriksson and Westberg were formerly teammates on Team Darkstar.
