Former Team Coast and SK Gaming mid laner Jesse “Jesiz” Le is set to join European League Challenger Series team Gamers2 as an AD carry.
Le will replace Mohammed “Jebus” Tohki who recently joined North American Challenger side Misfits. Tohki’s departure from Gamers2 came amid some heated online disputes over between Gamers2 owner Carlos “Ocelote” Rodriguez and Misfits owner Chris Badawi over Tohki’s contract status. Gamers2 ultimately backed off, allowing the player to move to Misfits.
Gamers2 auto-qualified for the Summer Challenger series, beginning June 23, thanks to a fourth-place finish in the Spring Series.
This role swap for Le comes as no surprise. He’s played ADC in the past and expressed his interest in moving back shortly after his departure from Team Coast.
As a mid laner, Le was often criticized for his small champion pool. His play was good enough, however, to help SK secure a bid to the 2014 World Championship last year by taking down ROCCAT in the third place decider match at the end of the European LCS.
With SK restructuring during the offseason, Le parted ways with the team, announcing his free agency on Oct. 23. Shortly after, Le and former Supa Hot Crew jungler Matt “Impaler” Taylor flow to the U.S. to join Team Coast in their bid for the 2015 Expansion Tournament. That proved a success, and Coast qualified for the North American LCS after reverse-sweeping Team Fusion.
Unfortunately things did not go as planned for Le with his new team. After four weeks of poor performances, Le was benched and replaced by Zachary “Mancloud” Allan Hoscher. Le eventually returned to Europe and switched to AD carry.
