Another established esports organization has branched into Hearthstone, taking three top free agents off the market in the process.
Luminosity Gaming, which previously focused exclusively on Counter-Strike, has opened a Hearthstone division. The team is comprised of Stanislav Cifka, Nuno “Ignite” Pinho and Josh “Impact” Graham.
It’s the first Hearthstone team for Cifka, a Magic: The Gathering pro who recently took victory at DreamHack Bucharest. Pinho, the veteran of the group, having competed in Hearthstone esports since early in the game’s development. He’s been without a team since leaving Meet Your Makers in September last year.
Graham was formerly of the IHearthU organisation, a team that’s been largely inactive since losing Harald “Powder” Gimre, Jan “Faramir” Engelmann and Daniel “DTwo” Ikuta in one fell swoop earlier this year. Graham had been telling all who asked in recent times that he was no longer a member of IHearthU, though the organization made no official statement on the matter.
All three Luminosity players will be competing at this weekend’s $40,000 DreamHack Summer Grand Prix. The tournament will see a number of players making debuts for new teams, including Tempo Storm‘s Haiyun “Eloise” Tang and the new-look Hearthstone roster of SK Gaming.
