After over two months of competition, one of Hearthstone’s biggest-ever tournaments will come to a head this weekend.
The finals of the inaugural Archon Team League Championships take place this weekend in Texas. The top four teams, Cloud9, Tempo Storm, Nihilum and Value Town will fight it out for the first prize of $150,000.
Nihilum and Value Town were early frontrunners in the league, with Value Town’s Brian Kibler boasting the best individual record throughout the season. It was Cloud9 who ended up on top of the league when the season was over, however. Tempo Storm, meanwhile, initially struggled but managed to win four games in a row, qualifying for the playoffs.
The teams will play a double elimination bracket today and tomorrow to determine the seeding for a final single elimination bracket on Sunday to determine the winner.
All of the players and casters have travelled to the Archon team house in Texas for the finals, aside from Tempo Storm’s Haiyun “Eloise” Tang and Dima “Rdu” Rdu or Nihilum who could not travel due to visa issues.
