A popular European Counter-Strike team will rebrand today as it acquires a new title sponsor.
Ukrainian side Flipsid3 Tactics has partnered with fantasy betting site eSportsPools. The team will now go under the name Flipsid3 Tactics ESP, or F3.ESP for short. It will also have a new logo.
“[ESP’s] staff has been ahead of the curve and they are amazing people,” Flipsid3 Tactics CEO Hector Rosario said in a press release.
ESP is the third daily fantasy site to sponsor esports teams. DraftKings and AlphaDraft both entered the space in 2015, sponsoring Counter-Strike organizations Cloud9, Team SoloMid, compLexity Gaming, Counter Logic Gaming, mousesports, SK Gaming, and Renegades.
While AlphaDraft’s Renegades sponsorship is still active, DraftKings has dropped the other six teams from its marketing budget due to legal issues and pending litigation in several states, as reported by the Daily Dot yesterday.
“I’m very excited to work with the Flipsid3 organization and its players,” said ESP CMO Jason Fung in a press release.
That team hasn’t been in the best run of form recently. It failed in two attempts to qualify for the Intel Extreme Masters X World Championship in January. It also failed to make it to DreamHack Liepzig after losing to SK Gaming.
