Four teams remain at the WESG CS:GO finals

Tomorrow's semifinals will be interesting to say the least.

Virtus pro, Space Soldiers, Kinguin, and EnVyUs have advanced to the top four of the $1.5 million World Esports Games event in Changzhou, China. The road to the semifinals hasn’t been entirely easy for the favorites at the event, however.

EnVyUs’ biggest challenge so far came in the quarterfinals against a new-look TyLoo squad. Despite only assembling the roster five days ago, the Chinese team brought EnVyUs to a third and nail-bitingly close third map before the Frenchmen were able to secure their victory.

This is in sharp contrast to the performance of Virtus Pro. Despite not putting on the most impressive performance in the group stage, the ELEAGUE season one champions haven’t dropped a map throughout the playoffs.

That said, they’ve yet to face any team of comparable skill in the playoffs, and the Poles have an interesting match-up ahead of them in the semifinals against countrymen Team Kinguin.

The second best team in Poland, Kinguin not only secured a top placement in their group, but also took down the Swedish team Epsilon eSports in the quarterfinals.

Group B and D winners Dark Passage and iGame.com fell to Space Soldiers and Virtus Pro respectively, failing to capitalize on their strong group stage performance.

EnVyUs will play Space Soliders, followed by Virtus Pro taking on Team Kinguin in tomorrow’s semifinals before the two winning teams face off for the title and the $800,000 first prize.
