The second new weapon added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone in season four back in 2020 was an assault rifle—and it’s reminiscent of a classic from the past.
Inspired by the Galil, a favorite gun from Call of Duty: Black Ops, the CR-56 AMAX is a decent assault rifle that works best at close to medium range. It’s not the best gun to take down enemies at a distance, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be customized to work well.
Many months later, the AMAX is still a favorite of many Warzone players, outpacing even the long-favored Grau 5.56 and even some Black Ops Cold War guns. It feels like the AMAX just hits harder, especially when chunking down armor in Caldera in the normal Battle Royale modes.

- Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel: XRK Zodiac S440
- Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
- Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
- Ammunition: 45 Round Mags
Featuring a larger magazine, better control, accuracy, and range, this loadout is solid for the huge map of Caldera. This was the loadout that top content creators and players used for months at a time in Warzone.
As with most AR loadouts, it uses the Monolithic Suppressor, which is a must. Combine that with the VLK 3.0x Optic and its range gets a huge buff from what it normally is able to do.
The Commando Foregrip will help your recoil, and 45 Round Mags keep you shooting until the enemy’s armor is gone or they are down for the count.
