It’s another humdrum ho-hum Monday, so that means it’s time to bust you out of your week-starting coma with the ESN Weekly News Recap! Here’s all that went down in the world of CoD eSports in the past week.
Please take a second to read it over and take a break from salivating over the thought of playing Grand Theft Auto V. Thank you.

COMPLEXITY DEFEATS OPTIC IN 5K SERIES
—————————-
In a heated finals matchup on Saturday night, CompLexity defeated OpTic Gaming 4 games to 2 to win 5,000 Pro Points for each player(Aches, Crimsix, TeePee and Clayster), which amounts to 20,000 Pro Points for the current roster.
It was a mini return to glory for OpTic Gaming, however, with their new roster in place and a new sense of urgency to compete. The team played well all day and defeated coL in both Search and Destroy games in the Finals, but were unable to stop the respawn-gametype juggernauts in CTF and Hardpoint.
It will be interesting to see how OpTic performs from here on out.
As for CompLexity, they showed that a second-place finish at MLG PAX did nothing but motivate them to win even more.

DEDO & PHIZZURP LEAVE MRKN
—————————-
The news broke on Twitter early last Tuesday morning that the duo of Dedo and Phizzurp would be leaving MRKN Gaming. In true ‘duo’ fashion, first Dedo tweeted about leaving the team due to disagreements with MRKN’s owner, and then Phizzurp followed shortly after.
Officially have left MRKN Gaming, done with @MRKN_Squad and his unprofessionalism.
— Dedo (@Dedo_vQ) September 10, 2013
Well @DedoKenneth left MRKN and thats my duo so im doing what hes doing. I want to officially say GL to MRKN and thank you for everything

It wouldn’t take long for the pair to find a new team, however.

TEAM VANQUISH ANNOUNCED
—————————-
On Wednesday, the Twitter world was set ablaze by the announcement of this newly-founded team. Dedo and Phizzurp, a team of two, found two of the best free agents in the game and joined forces to create this new squad that immediately began to turn heads with their impressive roster.
Official Roster is @PHiZZURP_vQ @Dedo_vQ @John_vQ @MboZe_vQ thank you for the support!
— Vanquish (@vQGaming) September 10, 2013
After leaving Impact, John weighed his options until he found the best fit, and apparently vQ was just that. And only a week after being unceremoniously dropped from UNiTE, Mboze found a new home with vQ to help round out their roster. It will be interesting to see how this new team performs in the future, because their roster on paper is impressive.

SAINTS JOINS SOAR
—————————-
Yet another victim of being dropped by UNiTE, Saints played with Team Jus after being replaced by Parasite and seeing his former squad win the MLG PAX Invitational. So, needless to say, it was a rough month for him. But when SoaR Competitive dropped Realize, a spot had opened up, and the stars aligned.
SoaR just picked up @SoaRSaints as their 4th! Welcome him to the team!
— SoaR Gaming (@SoaRGaming) September 11, 2013
Saints joins the team of Methodz, Stainville and Heist to create yet another team on the scene with high skill and even higher aspirations.

MRKN REFORMS WITH NEW ROSTER
—————————-
After Dedo and Phizzurp left, MRKN Gaming decided to start anew with a brand new roster, and they announced that roster just a few days later.
We’re proud as ever to announce the new @MRKN_GAMING Roster team Captain @MRKN_TuQuickk @MRKN_RoZay @MRKN_StuDyy & Anchor

MLG lifts Canadian Gamebattles Restrictions
—————————-
In the past, Canadian gamers were never able to compete in Gamebattles tournaments and online qualifiers to earn money and pro points. Why? I’m not sure, but MLG CEO Sundance Giovanni took to Twitter to [announce that things were changing](http://esports-nation.com/news/canadian-playing-restrictions-lifted-on-gamebattles/).
Canada – remember how you couldn’t play on Gamebattles?
That’s about to change.

Finally, our friends in the Great White North(outside of Quebec, that is) can join us for some GB magic and fun!
