ESL CS:GO Winter Pro League Day 1 Recap

Day one consisted of half of the group matches which determines a team’s fate in the tournament. As well as that, we also found out the first two teams that have advanced into the Playoff Bracket Stage of the event at the ESL Studios in Cologne, Germany.

Group A

Natus Vincere vs. Team Dignitas

Cobblestone:

– First Half: Dignitas (CT) won pistol, took Na’Vi (T) 10 – 5.

– Overall: 16 – 11 | Dignitas (T) took the lead in the series 1-0.

Mirage:

– First Half: Na’Vi (CT) won pistol, took Dignitas (T) 13 – 2.

– Overall: 16 – 2 | Na’Vi (T) tied up the series 1-1.

Inferno:

– First Half: Dignitas (T) won pistol, took Na’Vi (CT) 10 – 5.

– Overall: 16 – 12 | Dignitas (CT) took the series 2-1 over Na’Vi (T).

After their win over Natus Vincere, Team Dignitas went onto play the Winners Group match against the winner of Team SoloMid vs. Virtus.Pro.

Team SoloMid vs. Virtus.Pro

Overpass:

– First Half: TSM (T) won pistol, took VP (CT) 9 – 6.

– Overall: 16 – 12 | TSM (CT) took the lead in the series 1-0.

Cache:

– First Half: TSM (CT) won pistol, took VP (T) 11 – 4.

– Overall: 16 – 14 | VP (CT) ties up the series 1-1.

Mirage:

– First Half: VP (CT) won pistol, took TSM (T) 11 – 4.

– Overall: TSM (CT) took the series 2-1 over VP (T)

After their win over Virtus.Pro, Team SoloMid went onto play Team Dignitas in the Winners Group A match.

Winners Match – Team Dignitas vs. Team SoloMid

Inferno:

– First Half: TSM (T) won pistol, took Dignitas (CT) 8 – 6.

– Overall: 16 – 9 | TSM (CT) took the lead in the series 1-0.

Cache:

– First Half: Dignitas (T) won pistol, took TSM (CT) 8 – 7.

– Overall: 16 – 9 | Dignitas (CT) tied up the series 1-1.

Mirage:

– First Half: TSM (CT) won pistol, took Dignitas (T) 9 – 6.

– Overall: 16 – 13 | TSM (T) took the series 2-1 over Dignitas (CT).

With their win over Team Dignitas, Team SoloMid were the first confirmed team to be placed into the Semi-Finals which are to be played on Sunday.

Group B

Team EnVyUs vs. Copenhagen Wolves

Overpass:

– First Half: nV (CT) won pistol, took CPH W (T) 11 – 4.

– Overall: 16 – 6 | nV (T) took the lead in the series 1-0.

Inferno:

– First Half: nV (T) won pistol, took CPH W (CT) 12 – 3.

– Overall: 16 – 4 | nV (CT) took the series 2-0 over CPH W (T).

After their win over Copenhagen Wolves, Team EnVyUs went onto play the Winners Group match against the winner of Titan vs. 3DMAX.

Titan vs. 3DMAX

Inferno:

– First Half: 3DMAX (CT) won pistol, took Titan (T) 9 – 6.

– Overall: 19 – 17 | Titan (CT) won overtime to lead the series 1-0.

Nuke:

– First Half: Titan (CT) won pistol, took 3DMAX (T) 13 – 2.

– Overall: 16 – 8 | Titan (T) took the series 2-0 over 3DMAX (CT).

After their win over 3DMAX, Titan went onto play Team EnVyUs in the Winners Group B Match.

Winners Match – Team EnVyUs vs. Titan

Mirage:

– Overall: 16 – 11 | nV () took the lead in the series 1-0.

Inferno:

– Overall: 16 – 5 | Titan tied up the series 1-1.

Cache:

– Overall: 16 – 2 | nV took the series 2-1 over Titan.

With their win over Titan, Team EnVyUs advanced through to the Semi-Finals and may win the first ever ESL Pro League on Sunday.

 

Saturday Schedule:

Group A:

• Virtus.pro vs. Natus Vincere – Loser goes home.
• Team Dignitas vs. (winner of Virtus.Pro vs. Natus Vincere) – The loser of this match also goes home.

Group B:

• Copenhagen Wolves vs. 3DMAX – Loser goes home.
• Titan vs. (winner of Copenhagen Wolves vs. 3DMAX) – The loser of this match also goes home.
