eSportsNation's Week 2 edition of the power rankings for the first season of the Call of Duty World League.
This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

The first week of action in the Call of Duty World League for Call of Duty®: Black Ops III is officially in the books, which means that it is now time for an updated edition of eSportsNation ’s power rankings for the North American teams participating in this league.

Just as a reminder, the point system for these power rankings will be calculated based on the rankings submitted by any of the eSportsNation staff members. These staff members were asked to rank the 12 teams in order from best to worst, with No. 1 being the best and No. 12 being the worst. Points will be rewarded to mirror a team’s ranking; for example, the first place team will receive 12 points, while the twelfth place team will receive one point.

After every week of action, we will be releasing another power rankings article where the teams will either move up or down based on how they perform in their matches, so don’t forget to check back here each week for the latest power rankings.

Without further ado, here are your power rankings for this week.

NA Power Rankings – Week 2 (Season 1)

1. OpTic Gaming (80 total points; 5 first place votes)

They certainly did not make it easy on themselves, but nonetheless, OpTic Gaming remains in first place for our power rankings. Unlike last week, they did not receive every single first place vote, but five out of seven is still pretty impressive for the Green Wall after a 3-1 victory against CLG and a very close 3-2 win over eLevate.

2. FaZe Clan (75 total points)

FaZe Clan went up one spot in our power rankings despite not getting a single first place vote from our staff. However, they did receive the most second place votes (five out of seven), which is well deserved after they took down Rise Nation 3-2 in the first match of the season, followed by a 3-1 victory against Luminosity.

3. Team EnVyUs (70 total points; 1 first place vote)

  • Jordan “JKap” Kaplan
  • Patrick “ACHES” Price
  • Tyler “TeePee” Polchow
  • Austin “SlasheR” Liddicoat

Also improving their position in our power rankings is Team EnVyUs , who have gone up one spot since our last rankings after sweeping Team Kaliber and defeating compLexity 3-2 in the first week of action. What’s even more impressive is that JKap finished with the highest kill/death ratio for the first week in the NA region with a 1.25 K/D.

4. Rise Nation (65 total points; 1 first place vote)

Despite dropping their opening match against FaZe, Rise Nation only fell two spots in our rankings and still remains in the top four. Rise bounced back from their close 3-2 loss to FaZe with a dominant 3-0 win over Question Mark, so it looks like they have some momentum built up heading into Week 2.

5. H2k-Gaming (59 total points)

Not many people expect H2k-Gaming to be one of the four remaining unbeaten teams in the league after week two, and it’s for that reason that they have jumped up two spots from last week’s rankings. H2k continues to prove the doubters wrong, especially after they completed the reverse-sweep against CLG.

6. Luminosity Gaming (46 total points)

Luminosity Gaming has made the biggest improvement in our rankings, going up three spots since our last rankings. Luminosity proved they meant business with a 3-0 sweep of compLexity, but lost a close series 3-1 against FaZe.

7. Team eLevate (44 total points)

Dropping two spots in our rankings is Team eLevate , who despite playing without Remy still gave OpTic a close fight. eLevate forfeited their first match to Question Mark due to connection issues and then went all the way to map five, round 11 against OpTic before losing that series 3-2. Despite their 0-2 start, our staff still believes this is a strong team who will bounce back when Remy returns to replace substitute player Bryan “ Apathy ” Zhelyazkov.

8. Team Kaliber (33 total points)

Staying right where they were one week ago, Team Kaliber remains in our eighth spot in the rankings. Even though they were swept by EnVy, tK responded with a 3-1 victory over Dream Team on the second night of action.

9. compLexity Gaming (26 total points)

compLexity Gaming might be one of the biggest disappointments thus far in the league, dropping three spots since our last edition of the power rankings. Not many people expected coL to be 0-2 after the first week of action, but loses to Luminosity and EnVy have them currently tied for the worst record in the league.

10. Question Mark (19 total points)

There are still plenty of questions surrounding Question Mark, but they still were able to rise two spots in our power rankings. Question Mark received their only win when eLevate was forced to forfeit and then they were crushed 3-0 by Rise, so we will have to wait and see what this team has in store for us in Week 2.

11. Counter Logic Gaming (15 total points)

Counter Logic Gaming remains in our eleventh spot in the power rankings after going 0-2 in the first week of action, with loses to OpTic and H2k. They got off to a hot start against H2k but could not close out that series, so look for them to have at least tried to improve their Capture the Flag and Uplink gameplay heading into Week 2.

12. Dream Team (14 total points)

Dream Team was not as dominant online as many people expected, starting off 0-2 in the league and dropping down two spots in our power rankings. A lot of people expected them to beat tK, who is considered to be a weaker-online team, but tK came away with the 3-1 victory. After also losing 3-1 to H2k, this roster will definitely be looking to make several improvements moving forward in the league.
