LCK host Kim Mina, who was removed from the league’s broadcast over the weekend following concerns of possible exposure to the coronavirus, has tested negative for the disease, according to Fomos reporter kenzi.
This means her self quarantine should come to an end. The players and staff who came in contact with her during interviews and work over the weekend should also have any of their fears alleviated.
The news of a possible coronavirus scare in the LCK came during Sandbox Gaming’s match against Damwon yesterday. Caster Max “Atlus” Anderson alerted viewers that the LCK was taking “as many precautions as possible” during the incident.
The coronavirus, which originated in Wuhan, China, has spread across the world in recent weeks. There have been more than 78,000 cases and over 2,400 deaths reported, with the majority of those occurring in China.
There’s been an increase in the number of cases in South Korea, however. If that continues, the LCK might be postponed similar to how the LPL indefinitely postponed its activities in late January over worries for its players, staff, and fans.
