This weekend’s PGL 10K Tournament was a massive upset with the 12th place seeded team, eXcellence Gaming, placing 1st. The were able to beat the 6th seed, Team Liquid, 3-2 in the Grand Finals but that wasn’t even their best performance in this tourney. In the semi-finals they were able to eliminate Evil Geniuses 3-1, which was a massive upset considering that Evil Geniuses is the most dominate Halo team this season. The were also able to defeat Denial Esports 3-2 in the quarter-finals.  eXcellence did not have an easy bracket in this event, they had to play three pro teams in a row!
This PGL series was probably the most entertaining online tournament this season with Evil Geniuses placing a surprising third, equal to their lowest placing in all of the HCS Online Cups. We were also able to see a few up and coming teams fight their way through a pretty tough bracket. I look forward to see how these new teams perform during the rest of H2A and Halo 5.
With a phenomenal performance like this from eXcellence, I would definitely be looking more at this team in Halo 5. Congratulations to @UnLegit_eX @eLToWn_eX @Frosty_eX @CobySwift_eX and @eX_Gaming_ For having faith in this team.
