The new feature only began yesterday.

A new feature in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Trials, has been disabled due to a glitch just one day after it was introduced to the game.

The entire point of Trials is to earn additional XP, and the glitch in question wasn’t rewarding XP after Trials were completed. For now, Trials have been turned off until the glitch is fixed.

Trials begin once you’re in Officer Ranks, when you can earn tickets you can use to compete in Trials. If you’re already in the Officer Ranks, you’ll get access to tickets you already earned via gameplay.

In Modern Warfare, Officer Ranks effectively replace prestiging. Once you pass level 55, you can earn 100 additional Officer Ranks each season.

Here’s how Trials work, when enabled:

  • One ticket is needed to take part in a Trial.
  • One ticket grants you three tries.
  • Based on your performance, you’ll be given a one, two, or three-star rating.
  • Each star rating grants XP rewards:
    • Zero stars: Zero XP
    • One star: 5,000 XP
    • Two stars: 7,500 XP
    • Three stars: 10,000 XP

Infinity Ward promised to provide an update when the developer is ready to turn Trials back on.
