One of the youngest players in today’s $500,000 Fortnite Summer Skirmish Solo tournament came out on top, proving he’s one of the most skilled players in Europe.
Domeniks “Domentos” Bunts of Team Secret was victorious in today’s European competition, defeating Duong “Kinstaar92i” Huyh, Johan “Ettnix” Bengtsson, and others in the process. The win earned the 18-year-old the $67,500 grand prize and the honor of being one of the few Summer Skirmish champions.
Domentos also owns the honor of being a Friday Fortnite champion, winning the June 15 tournament to become the youngest winner in the event’s history.
Although he was the eventual winner, Domentos had several players hot on his heels in the tournament who were close to grabbing the title. In the “Hold the Throne” format for this tournament, players were competing for Victory Royales, top two or three finishes, and four-kill games in order to reach eight points before anyone else.
In second place, 16-year-old French player TheVic finished with six points and ProximaStar rounded out the top three with five points of his own. There were also three players—ProximaStar, Jamal “Jamside” Saydaev, and Oblivion—who finished on top of the throne, which served as a $50,000 bonus for the highest kill game in the event. Unlike yesterday’s NA tournament, which saw a 26-player tie for eighth place, today’s competition saw its biggest tie at 23rd place.
